The Greater Good License family is Craig Ellrod's: a license that permanently names the original inventor, gives back to the public good, charges those who profit, and lets later inventors be credited and paid for what they add without overriding the root. He set those requirements, the free and fee tiers, the Contributed and Reserved patent split, the lineage idea, and the contribution marker syntax. Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, drafted the clause text, proposed the mechanisms that implement those requirements (hash-linked Lineage Nodes, countersigned recognition, the pool cap, the root-claim assignment rule, the one-way ratchet, fail-closed markers), and wrote the tools and tests, under his direction.
